LG Optimus Series Smartphones to Feature NVIDIA Tegra 2
The good news is that in january 2011 “world fastest mobile phone” will be available to users starting from Korea and then sooner will be made available in “Europe and Asia”. Claiming to be the ”world’s first and fastest dual-core smartphone,” the Optimus 2X is powered by a 1GHz NVIDIA’S Tegra2 which we know has a ARM Cortex-A9 processor at its core.
The dual core CPU will run at 1GHz. Tegra 2 also features NVIDIA’s own mobile GPU, although we know nothing of its architecture or how well it stacks up to high end GPUs from Imagination Technologies. NVIDIA calls it a GeForce GPU however I’d be surprised if there’s any similarities between it and what’s shipping in desktop GeForce GPUs today.

- NVIDIA’s dual-core 1GHz mobile CPU.
- 4-inch WVGA display.
- 8GB of onboard storage.
- An 8-megapixel camera on the back.

One minor glitch to this is that the LG Optimus 2X will run Android 2.2 Froyo at launch, with a 2.3 Gingerbread update at some later stage.
